Arthur Herman é autor de nove livros, entre eles A ideia de decadência na história ocidental, além do best-seller How the Scots Invented the Modern World e To Rule the Waves: How the British Navy Shaped the Modern World, indicado ao prestigioso Mountbatten Prize em 2005. Doutor em História pela Universidade Johns Hopkins, é membro sênior do Hudson Institute.
