The march took place in Pará, in the municipality of Eldorado do Carajás, when the police were called during the event. In a disastrous—and apparently deliberate—action, the police responded with disproportionate brutality, killing nineteen workers and seriously injuring several others.  \nA brilliant and meticulous report by journalist Eric Nepomuceno, the book compiles different episodes, recounts the moments of panic experienced by workers and their families during the massacre, and also addresses the moments after the event, such as, for example, the successive trials full of questionable decisions, which, until the time of the book's publication, had not guaranteed justice for the victims.\n After so many years, that massacre is in grave danger of being forgotten. According to the MST website, those responsible for the crime have still not been punished. The author says this book was written to \"fan the embers of memory to prevent them from becoming dead ashes.\"\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47159762845948,"sku":"9788501112897","price":54.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0722\/9197\/5420\/files\/0e6e0a88ee3daabb24c87337fffc91a0.jpg?v=1778316745"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/collections\/eric-neopomuceno.oembed","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
