{"title":"Jean Marc Levy Leblond","description":"","products":[{"product_id":"a-velocidade-da-sombra","title":"The speed of the shadow","description":"The essays collected in this book, as well as those that preceded it, seek to outline what we would like to call a critique of science. Not a critique of science that would immediately place science in the dock, but rather an interrogation of its circumstances, which helps to understand, without separating them, its contents, nature, and challenges. The title of this book, although originating in the paradox that allows us to attribute to shadows a speed greater than that of light, refers primarily to the crisis of the Age of Enlightenment project and the bleak prospect of a technoscience that would provide only obscure clarities. The strategy followed in these essays consists, for a better understanding of scientific activity, in exploring its limits through singular but illuminating questions: why, for four centuries, have physicists been interested in Hell? Where does the myth of the seven colors of the rainbow come from? What is the significance of the letters of the alphabet in the (effectively kabbalistic) formulas of Physics? What do the anecdotes circulating about great scientists, and especially Einstein, tell us about science? Does it have a cross-cultural universality? Doesn't sharing knowledge also require sharing ignorance? Is there a Muse of science?","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47176994455804,"sku":"9788574320946","price":69.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0722\/9197\/5420\/files\/d9a1a8a8b825b3f71e7e89a30fc9e1c6.jpg?v=1778323725"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/collections\/jean-marc-levy-leblond.oembed","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
