Lúcia has defined herself as a writer who discovers her stories through reading, walking, and traveling without much method. It's no coincidence that a journey, albeit imaginary—but with method and calculated risk—is the reason for this book, which begins with an editorial proposal, in keeping with a certain trend in contemporary Brazilian literature: that of guiding authors to set their stories in foreign settings. Mariana is a young writer who believes she's incapable of falling in love. She wins a one-month scholarship to write a romance novel set in Venice, Italy, which may even be filmed later—but she struggles to let her characters meet and experience true passion. Fábio, a university professor and the person responsible for Mariana's recommendation, follows his friend's creative process, speaking to her daily on the phone. Little by little, Fábio shows Mariana that love still exists and can even happen between the pages of a book. Through the ingenious dialogues between the couple, interspersed with the appearance of Paula and Francesco, who will become the protagonists of the romance, we follow the collaborative creative process that weaves the book's writing. With her characteristic direct language, always searching for the right word, the author reveals the behind-the-scenes of a production whose challenge is to overcome the déjà vu of the theme and the set design. For her, however, it is “a fun little story, which mixes melodrama with some very uninhibited conversations”.","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47159473144060,"sku":"9788501098559","price":39.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0722\/9197\/5420\/files\/70c192fe2b965f90ac02dc7b4a4d1063_660969c8-d04b-419d-871e-694123fc7360.jpg?v=1778323164"},{"product_id":"a-secretaria-de-borges","title":"Borges's secretary","description":"Borges's The Secretary possesses imagination, style, and consistency. Imagination because the plots, almost always ingenious—albeit at varying levels of complexity—are resolved with ease. Style because the language, quick and direct, is well-woven, without laxity, and reveals a search for the exact word and the most functional expression possible. And consistency because the characters (almost always women, by the way) assert themselves with dialogue, thoughts, and feelings that develop naturally.","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47159748329724,"sku":"9788501073518","price":69.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0722\/9197\/5420\/files\/c054dea9c9b332343dfd8a1c47bbc4bb.jpg?v=1778324820"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/collections\/lucia-bettencourt.oembed","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
