He has always lived in his aquarium, with the warmth of the orange lamp, his pellets of food, and a few lettuce leaves. But his life is not as peaceful as it seems: every now and then, Davy, the youngest of the three brothers he lives with, puts him in his shirt pocket, grabs him, and spins him around. His life, however, will be turned upside down (or, in this case, upside down) when, by accident, he finds himself alone in the dangerous waters of a lagoon. Thus begins \"The Adventures of Tartuffe of the Majestic Mississippi,\" by Phyllis Shalant, an exciting and entertaining story. One day, the brothers decide to watch a television program about animals. It wasn't a program about dinosaurs or wild beasts, but about the majestic Mississippi River and its turtles. Amidst the playtime, the youngest child places Tartuffe, or Tufinho, as he's called, in the palm of his hand and shows him all the wonders on display. The little turtle soon becomes the butt of jokes among his older brothers. One afternoon, wanting to play with his brothers, the five-year-old boy is rejected. So, he decides to fetch Tartuffe from his aquarium, so he can take a trip to the lake and prove to everyone that just because they're small doesn't mean they shouldn't be respected. Arriving at the shore, Davy places the little turtle in the water, making it wave its legs and encouraging it to float. Tartuffe remembers all the images he's seen on television: the river's currents, the plants, the countless animals... and this fills him with courage! He begins to float happily, listening to the boy's praise, until a voice breaks the silence. It's the boys' mother asking them to come back. Davy reaches for it, holding it in his hands, until he hesitates to return. \"Hey, Tuff, want to go for one last swim? I'll go get Josh and Jeff. Just wait until they see how well you swim. Better than them!\" The boy pulls back his arm and throws the little turtle as far as he can. What now? Will Tartuffe be able to wait for the boy? Will Davy come back for his little pet? It's getting dark, and you never know what a forest might hold...","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47176631091452,"sku":"9788528613162","price":49.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0722\/9197\/5420\/files\/23c24eacfbe8a7307b79d96670d101f3.jpg?v=1778321969"}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/collections\/phyllis-shalant.oembed","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
