The Political Science professor at IUPERJ used texts, many of them original, to reveal the true content of the intellectual's thoughts. \"I explored Marx's entire vast work, recovering from his earliest texts written in his youth to his last ones during his lifetime, emphasizing some that were only published a few decades ago and others that can still only be read in German.\" The book reveals that Marx was more concerned with reflecting on political than economic issues, and the Communism he envisioned is quite different from that put into practice in the 20th century. Before its creator conceived of it as an alternative to the capitalist mode of production, political doctrine was conceived as a way of organizing a self-governing society. By addressing the field of governance, the author reveals the true target of Marx's criticism: the State, which he saw as an antagonist of civil society. With its demise, the class struggle would end, as would other divergences caused by the antagonism between State and society: man vs. citizen; universal vs. particular; formal vs. material. This would be the revolution's greatest achievement. Another new aspect presented by the author is the status of the working class. Thamy Pogrebinschi shows that Marx saw the proletariat merely as a historical subject, not a political actor. She points to this role as the common man, who, dissatisfied with being merely a citizen, rebels against human rights and fights for a genuinely human condition. The author also retrieved Marx's extensive correspondence with emblematic figures of the 19th century. These letters reveal enigmas from his work, as well as an irony and sarcasm capable of overthrowing any interlocutor.","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47175907049724,"sku":"9788520009161","price":69.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}]}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/collections\/thamy-pogrebinschi.oembed","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
