{"product_id":"enquanto-agua","title":"While water","description":"With his rich, dense prose that flirts with poetry, Altair Martins has earned a prominent place in the national literary scene. And he has taken critics by storm: winner of the 2009 São Paulo Literature Prize in the category of best debut novel for \"A parede no escuro\" (The Wall in the Dark), he has also twice won the Guimarães Rosa Prize from Radio France Internationale, as well as the Luiz Vilela, Josué Guimarães, and Açorianos awards. In \" Enquanto água\" (While Water), he returns to the short story in a book interspersed with the sea, its ebb and flow. In all, there are eighteen texts in which water is both a point of union and dispersion. Divided into four chapters, each group of stories follows a sensation: rain in the face, after the rain, drizzle, sparkling water. In the fluidity of these plots, water can appear as a bias toward reality, as in \"Da margem futura\" (From the Future Margin), a tension-filled tale about a fisherman and his family. In \"The Core of the Stars,\" the element takes on a fantastical quality, with the verbose protagonist referred to simply as \"the narrator.\" A man brimming with erudition and knowledge that, in a way, overwhelms him. In the short story \"The Sea, in the Living Room,\" he proves that the fantastic is a bias toward reality, or vice versa. Everyday family dramas, such as a father-in-law's dispute and a granddaughter's first birthday celebration, are resolved through the intervention of the nature surrounding the characters. Original and full of linguistic experimentation, \"While Water\" confirms Altair as one of Brazil's finest short story writers. A reputation that slowly blossomed in his native Porto Alegre, and gained momentum and endorsement from specialized critics over the years: \"I sought the rhythm of rivers and rains, the overflows and drownings,\" he reveals.","brand":"Totvsrj-record-dc","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47159417110780,"sku":"9788501094100","price":54.9,"currency_code":"BRL","in_stock":true}],"url":"https:\/\/www.record.com.br\/en\/products\/enquanto-agua","provider":"Editora Record","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
