MASCULINO\/FEMININO brings together the content of two lectures given in a close circle of friends from various fields of knowledge—theology, philosophy, political science, sociology, pedagogy, and popular education—in Correias, a neighborhood of Petrópolis, a mountain city in Rio de Janeiro. In these works, Lúcia Ribeiro and Leonardo Boff expose, through a personal and subjective narrative, how each experienced and sought to integrate sexuality and the principles of masculine and feminine into their personal journeys. With Lúcia Ribeiro, we follow the journey of a woman born in the 1930s, raised according to very traditional standards, studied at a convent school, and had her sexuality repressed and guided according to the norms of the time: the great milestone in her experience of masculine\/feminine was the romantic relationship with the man who became her husband. From then on, new personal and professional horizons opened up. Leonardo poses the following question: every person is a bearer of both masculine and feminine. Can we successfully live our feminine dimension with the lucid dimension of the masculine, and vice versa? And after a brief theoretical introduction on the subject, the authors continue to develop the theme with a provocation: how does each of us live our own reality while having to deal with these two aspects of ourselves? The authors dare to share their experiences with sincerity.
