Sinopse
"

The impressive story of the girl who was held captive for eight years, 3096 days , tells the drama of one of the longest kidnappings ever recorded.

In 2006, the world stopped to watch the outcome of one of the longest kidnappings in history: Austrian Natascha Kampusch had disappeared at the age of ten, after leaving home to go to school. Numerous searches were conducted by the police, but to no avail. Due to relationship problems with the girl, her family was accused of plotting her disappearance.

The mystery was surprisingly resolved. After spending eight years under the control of a stranger, living in a basement measuring four meters by three meters, Natascha managed to escape. In her statements to the police, she said that her captor, also Austrian Wolfgang Priklopil, mistreated her and forced her to perform household chores. Her only leisure time was watching television, listening to the radio, and reading.

All that remains of her captivity are memories and a diary written over the years, which served as the basis for the book. In 3096 Days , Natascha recounts how she learned to live with her captor and tries to find a justification for her abduction and mistreatment. She also talks about resuming a normal life, now in the global spotlight.
