However, Miral, a young woman raised at the institution and outraged by the horrors of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, begins to flirt with armed resistance, challenging the beliefs Hind always instilled in her students. What would be the best path to achieving justice? Based on her own experiences, author Rula Jebreal exposes the problems of this unique region from a little-explored perspective—that of Palestinian women. The book was adapted for the big screen in 2010 under the title Miral, starring Freida Pinto (star of the film Slumdog Millionaire) and directed by Julian Schnabel. Miral's Flower Road has sold over 2 million copies and has been published in 14 languages.
