The cinema experience

A work responsible for forming a generation of film buffs, The Cinema Experience, by Ismail Xavier , returns to bookstores with a new cover.

In the anthology The Experience of Cinema , Ismail Xavier brings together texts by theorists, critics, philosophers and filmmakers from the French, English-speaking, Russian and German traditions, produced between 1916 and 1980. Thus, he presents the main theories and a comprehensive reflection on cinema, revealing the diversity of analyses that have marked thinking about the cinematic experience – from the basic explanations of filmmakers from the beginning of the century to the syntheses and new aesthetic proposals of contemporary thought.
