David also discovers that Rein took his own life, disappearing into the depths of the ocean. As he works on the translation, David finds parallels in Rein's novel with his own life. And with his wife, Ewa, who, according to police, is believed to have died in an accident in the small mountain town of Graues a few years earlier. But nothing is as it seems.
