The Feathered Serpent

Five generations of women paint a true portrait of China from the Qing Dynasty to the last decade of the 20th century. Since childhood, Yu has felt different. At a young age, she realized that her mother and grandmother didn't love her, and to make matters worse, she murdered her younger brother, everyone's favorite. The girl runs away from home and, determined to atone for her mistakes, sets off on a journey that includes working on a distant plantation and as a stevedore. However, family obligations eventually demand her return, and she must assume her role as the youngest of three sisters. Feathered Serpent shows the delicacy and brutality inherent in blood ties.
