One summer morning, two girls meet for the first time. By the end of the day, they will be accused of murder. Just hours after meeting, Jade and Bel, both 11, find themselves implicated in the death of a little girl and branded as murderers. The two girls are sent to different reform schools, where they are given new identities and instructed never to contact each other again. Now they are Kirsty, a respected freelance journalist from London, and Amber, the manager of an amusement park in southern England. When Amber finds a body in one of the park's attractions, the media goes into an uproar, and Kirsty, sent to cover the murders, ends up crossing paths with her old acquaintance. It doesn't take long for the two to realize how much they know about each other. Fearful that their pasts will be discovered and exposed by the media frenzy, Kirsty and Amber fight to keep their secret safe.
