SOMEWHERE, SOMEWHERE. Extraordinary characters in extraordinary situations: nothing in Nelson de Oliveira's fiction is ordinary, trivial, or banal. The astonishing everyday life in which these characters and situations are immersed is, curiously, very similar to our boring, repetitive daily lives. But these deceptive appearances disappear in the very first lines. There's something there that shines, vibrates, and explodes magically, arousing great envy in the reader, who would give anything for their own life to have that same intensity.
