Retirement is for the weak

Demographic studies show that people born in the 1960s are gaining at least twenty more years of life expectancy. As a result, our view of old age and retirement needs to change. Far from being on their way to becoming the "grandpas" and "grandmas" of yesteryear, individuals currently in their 40s and 50s have the chance to be the first generation to disrupt the relationship between daily work and retirement. Using the concept of the Knowledge Economy, the author demonstrates that, in the future, physical labor will be reduced to a minimum, and experience and the ability to think creatively and boldly will be the greatest assets in the professional environment.
