Sinopse
"

Paperback edition of the book that inspired the 66th episode of the television series Lost

"All over the world, young people were sacrificing their lives for their country, just as they had been told. And no one seemed to care, least of all the young people who were risking their young lives. There was no end in sight." - Joseph Heller

Set during World War II, this anti-war and satirical classic established Joseph Heller in literary circles. Catch-22 was loosely inspired by Heller's own experiences, having joined the United States Army Air Corps and at age 20 was sent to Italy, where he flew 60 combat missions as a bombardier in a B-25.

Catch-22 was the author's first novel and was acclaimed by English critics for its ironic emphasis on the absurdity of war and the atrocities committed on the battlefield. The book inspired the war film of the same name directed by Mike Nichols, a play performed at the John Drew Theater in New York, Robert Altman's comedy MASH about the Korean War, and, most recently, the 66th episode of the television series Lost , titled Catch-22. A classic that is more than relevant in today's war-torn world.

Sobre o autor

Joseph Heller
