THE COLORS OF LOVE

THE COLORS OF LOVE is journalist Luciano Trigo's first children's book. According to the author, the book "was born from an idea: that a child represents the materialization of love, that is, the transformation of something invisible, a feeling, into something visible and concrete." The author tells the story of Penelope, a girl who loved coloring her mother's drawings. One day, the girl asked her mother to draw love. Even after much thought, Penelope's mother couldn't draw anything she wanted. Her father explained that love was a feeling, that it had no color or shape. But Penelope wasn't convinced; she wanted to see love. "See and color!" she said. Penelope didn't yet know that it is precisely the invisible things that are most important in life, and she will be pleasantly surprised when she discovers what love is. Luciano Trigo's partnership with illustrator Mariana Massarani in THE COLORS OF LOVE resulted in a beautiful and enchanting book, made for children of all ages. Luciano Trigo is a journalist and writer, author of novels, short stories, and the essay "The Immobile Traveler," about Machado de Assis. "The Colors of Love" is his first children's book, which he hasn't dedicated to anyone because he doesn't have children yet. When a Penelope arrives, he promises to dedicate other books to her. Mariana Massarani is from Rio de Janeiro and has illustrated over 30 children's books. For 13 years, she worked as an illustrator for Jornal do Brasil. In 1997, she received the Jabuti Award for illustration for Lewis Carroll's book "Rimas do País das Maravilhas."
