For over forty years, Cheryl T. Her profession is that of a sex therapist. The book opens with the moving story of Mark O'Brien, a Berkeley poet and journalist who contracted polio at age six and has since been forced to live with an artificial lung. O'Brien's short essay was the basis for the film "The Sessions," adapted by director and screenwriter Ben Lewin and starring Helen Hunt and John Hawkes.
