Sinopse

Adapted for TV by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, Band of Brothers reveals the exploits of the brave fighters of Company E. Historian Stephen E. Ambrose narrates the most critical moments of World War II.

Easy Company, the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army, was one of the finest rifle companies in the world. From its rigorous training in Georgia in 1942 to D-Day and the Allied victory, Ambrose tells the story of this remarkable company, which always received the most difficult missions. Easy Company was responsible for it all—from parachuting into France in the early morning hours of D-Day to capturing the Eagle's Nest, Hitler's fortress at Berchtesgaden.

Band of Brothers is the story of the men—from the most remote corners of the United States and from the most diverse social classes—of this admirable unit who fought enemy forces, starved, suffered extreme cold, and died, a company that suffered 150% casualties and considered the Purple Heart a badge of honor.

Stephen Ambrose draws on hours of interviews with survivors, as well as soldiers' diaries and letters, to tell the stories, often in the soldiers' own words, of these American heroes.

"A masterful exploration of the characteristics of elite infantry soldiers. Military history buffs will delight in the work's richness of detail. Stephen Ambrose's meticulous research and sense of organization have produced a deeply moving account of the heroic service of this 'band of brothers' he so admires." — San Francisco Chronicle

“A fascinating read for anyone interested in the fighting of World War II.” — Publishers Weekly

“An incredible journey, and Ambrose brilliantly illuminates every mile of it.” — The Tampa Tribune
