Dogs of Rome

On one of the hottest days of the year in Rome, activist Arturo Clemente is found dead in his apartment. Clemente is no ordinary victim: his lover is the daughter of an organized crime boss, and his betrayed wife is a prominent senator. Furthermore, his animal rights campaigns have sparked the ire of dogfighting organizer Renato Alleva. But despite the large number of suspects, Italian authorities appear to be making no effort to solve the crime. Practically alone in the investigation, Commissioner Alec Blume is unaware that his pursuit of justice could cost other lives. • Conor Fitzgerald is British, but has lived in Rome since the 1980s, and his experience in the city helped create the book series featuring the character Alec Blume.
