Chronicle of a woman's life

Novel by the man who anticipated the ideas of the creator of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud. The book tells the story of Therese Fabiani, an Austrian woman from a decadent family and a harsh fate. The young woman, whose life is told from the age of 16, sees her family unit fall apart after her father's madness. Without showing much suffering, not even when her mother becomes a pimp and tries to deliver her into the arms of an old count, she seeks her own path. Society, however, is already manifesting the loss of values that would characterize the 20th century and is far from providing her with the shelter that her family once offered.
