Sinopse
Nora Roberts weaves together the characters the way only she knows how: with romance, intrigue, and, in this case, a ghost. Stella Rothchild has a compulsion to plan everything in her life, which, she says, keeps her from unexpected events. When she falls madly in love, the reader will witness her struggle to avoid going against everything she has always stood for. The book begins with the sudden death of the protagonist's husband and her move, with her two children, from Michigan to Memphis. She moves into the mysterious Harper House, where she will work as the manager of the famous and enormous plant nursery. The centuries-old mansion is home to the stern Roz Harper and the haunting Harper Bride, who walks the halls singing lullabies. After a period of mourning, Stella finds happiness again in her new home and work, and discovers a great friend in Roz. Another person who will become part of her life is designer Logan Kitridge, whom she initially hates because he's the antithesis of herself: he lives in chaos, is impulsive, and doesn't plan for the future. Over time, the tension turns to admiration and love. The only problem: Bride Carter can't stand other people's happiness. Blue Dahlia presents a well-crafted mystery, coupled with characters readers will love. Throughout the plot, only small details about the Harper Bride are revealed, making the story even more intriguing.
