Bliss Cavendar is a 16-year-old indie-rock fan, adorable and eccentric, but she's stuck in Bodeen, a small town in rural Texas. Her mother, a beauty pageant addict, is determined to make her daughter win the town pageant. But Bliss has finally found a way out: Roller Derby, an extreme sport, just for stylish and fun girls like her. And, along with epic injuries and hot musicians, she'll learn some lessons that even a cool Derby fan can't ignore!
