A series of tragedies left Sophie bitter, but she didn't count on life's surprising twists and turns.

Sophie Jones owns a candy store in Seattle. However, her life isn't exactly rosy. A series of tragedies, beginning with the death of her parents on her ninth birthday, has left her bitter. Now, Garrett, her ex-fiancé, is seeking her out to explain why he abandoned her. When she refuses to talk, the two make a bet. Garrett will place an ad in the newspaper asking for proof that lasting happiness exists.
