Echoes of the mind

When Mark Schluter is involved in a truck accident and falls into a coma, his sister Karin decides to help him recover. Determined to rebuild her relationship with her brother from scratch, she is surprised when Mark emerges from his coma and doesn't recognize her, accusing her of being an imposter. Shaken, she seeks help from renowned neurologist and writer Gerald Weber, who diagnoses the boy with rare Capgras syndrome. However, Mark's disorder soon begins to affect Karin and Weber, who find themselves on a journey of personal discovery in which all their choices and attitudes will be reexamined in unexpected ways. "Echoes of the Mind" won the National Book Award for Fiction and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2006.
