Heloisa Schurmann is a member of the first Brazilian family to sail around the world three times. Having already traveled to more than sixty countries, she raised and educated her four children while they sailed the seas. In *Expedição Oriente* , she recounts the details of the adventure that began on September 21, 2014: after three years of preparation, the Schurmann family set off on an 812-day voyage, crossing four oceans, 50,000 kilometers, five continents, 29 countries, and fifty different locations around the world. The goal was to retrace the route that, according to Gavin Menzies in his book *1421: The Year China Discovered the World *, the Chinese circumnavigated the globe with their gigantic junks long before the so-called European "discoveries."

On this journey, the Schurmanns departed from Santa Catarina aboard the sailboat Kat—an impressive vessel combining cutting-edge technology and sustainability solutions. Sailing for two years and three months, Heloisa and her husband, Vilfredo, the Captain, once again shared the space on board with their children and grandchildren—all successful citizens of the world, raised at sea—and crew members selected to share with them a journey of great challenges, remarkable moments, and unforgettable experiences. During the expedition, they visited places such as Patagonia, Ushuaia, Antarctica, Papua New Guinea, Australia, China, and more.
