Frei Betto: Biography

The book tells the diverse stories that mark Frei Betto's life, in which religion, love, politics, and activism combine to create a democratic and pluralistic society that welcomes all citizens. From his birth into a traditional Minas Gerais family, to his Liberation Theology, the National Liberation Action, his imprisonment during the military dictatorship, his participation in the creation of popular movements, his literature and awards, his close relationship with Lula, his work in socialist countries, especially Cuba, and his personal and public gestures of solidarity—among many other events that have made Frei Betto an admirable man.
