The rooster crowed!: The conquest of property by the residents of Cantagalo

Galo Santou! presents the experience of land regularization for existing lots and buildings in the Cantagalo favela in Rio de Janeiro. This social achievement, an initiative of the community itself and the Atlantic Institute, which organized this book, is discussed here from the different perspectives of its participants. An exemplary project, it presents an alternative that, if replicated in other Brazilian cities, could increase the country's social wealth by around one trillion reais by 2020.
