Urban geomorphology

Urban Geomorphology, edited by Antonio José T. Guerra, highlights how this topic can contribute to urban societies. According to the authors, the joint and integrated participation of geographers, geologists, engineers, architects, and other professionals will be crucial to achieving these goals. The idea for the book arose from the realization that several experts were seeking to understand the environmental damage occurring in urban areas, not only to make the necessary diagnoses but also to develop prognoses to prevent such damage from recurring. Urban Geomorphology consists of seven chapters: Urban Slopes, Urban Soils, Urban Watersheds, Urban Geomorphology: Concepts, Methodologies, and Theories—the guiding principle of this book—Urban Geotechnics, Urban Environmental Licensing, and Urban Anthropogeomorphology.
