Warriors of Rome: King of Kings (Vol. 2)

The Warrior of Rome survived the siege of Arete and is back in full force. 256 AD. The Roman Empire is in turmoil. Christianity is gaining more and more followers, among them important and dangerous men who plan to use their authority to ensure their new religion gains greater influence in the region, threatening to undermine the empire's traditional values. Meanwhile, Ballista, a seasoned general and survivor of the siege of Arete, returns to the imperial court at a time of intrigue and religious fanaticism, but receives a less than warm welcome. Despite his great courage and strong loyalty to Rome, he is frowned upon by most of the nobles due to the defeat at Arete and his origins as a slave born in Germanic territory. However, it is on Rome's eastern border—where a vast Sassanid Persian army advances—that the real danger lies. Thus, it falls only to Ballista, the Warrior of Rome, to protect the Roman Empire from this overwhelming threat.
