Story of new beginnings

Roberta and Octavia have been best friends since high school. Now, approaching 40, they must deal with the reality of their failing marriages. Roberta, who has always been the "good girl," is married to Scott, whom she helped enrich and become the owner of a major real estate company. They have a 14-year-old daughter, Alicia. Scott is an abusive husband, and the situation reaches a critical point when, after an argument, he calls the police and has Roberta arrested. Octavia, who in her youth was seen as a black sheep and a rebellious example not to be followed, ended up marrying Jonathan, a computer nerd full of quirks and compulsions, with whom she had three children. When Jonathan loses his job and living under the same roof becomes unbearable, Octavia begins to wonder what she has done with her life. Inspired by Roberta's determination to file for divorce, Octavia summons the courage to unearth a story from her past: her days with the only man she truly loved. How powerful does love need to be to survive?
