Invisible men

When narrating Sydney Possuelo's expeditions through the Amazon rainforest, Leonencio Nossa brings to light the issue of isolated peoples in Brazil.

The expedition will last 105 days. The trek through the forest and the river crossings are difficult. The men's luggage, equipment, and provisions become heavier every day; they are forced to leave behind many things that once seemed essential. Food is eaten. At dusk, clouds of mosquitoes attack the camp. There are poisonous snakes, alligators, spiders, and fire-breathing ants.

Among the expedition members, it's a time for solidarity, but also a time for heightened conflict, as always happens in extreme situations. Almost as isolated as the archers, many lose track of time—all they know is that, there, nothing is for now.

By discussing topics such as the existence of isolated peoples, these invisible Brazilians, and the demarcation of indigenous lands, Invisible Men is an extremely important work for the current Brazilian scenario.
