Alex is a senior in high school, fighting a daily battle to differentiate reality from illusion. Armed with a relentless attitude, her camera, a Magic 8 Ball, and her only ally—her younger sister—she declares war on her schizophrenia, determined to stay sane enough to get into college. And Alex is quite optimistic about her chances, until she runs into Miles. Is he really that blue-eyed boy she once shared a defining moment with? But hadn't he been a figment of her imagination? Before she knows it, Alex is making friends, going to parties, falling in love, and experiencing all the typical teenage rites of passage. The problem is, she's not ready to be normal.
