Sinopse

James Henry Trotter had a perfect life with his family in a seaside house... until his parents were eaten by a rhinoceros that escaped from the zoo! Now he's forced to live with two evil aunts, and only a pumpkin—or rather, a peach—carriage can get him out of this situation.

James's life has been turned upside down. He was once a happy boy, living in a beautiful house with many friends. But after being forced to live with Aunts Spike and Sponge, two mean ladies who exploit him at every opportunity, the boy lives in endless sadness and feels alone every day.

But when a peach tree in the garden begins to grow and grow and grow, James hitches a ride on the giant fruit and, in the company of some very peculiar friends who live inside, embarks on an unforgettable adventure.

What might happen when Aunts Sponge and Spike get in the way of this gang?

James and the Giant Peach is still a favorite book for children and adults almost 60 years after its release, thanks to its vivid imagery, vibrant characters, and unabashed exploration of mature themes like death and hope.” — Time Magazine
