Amidst the colors, sounds and landscapes of African territory, Legends of Africa , by Júlio Emílio Braz, and illustrated by Douglas Lopes and Vitória Gomes, celebrates all the richness of African culture through ancestral narratives, which reveal themselves to be current and full of meaning.
Where the sun paints the sky brilliantly and the savannah stretches as far as the eye can see, incredible stories are passed down from generation to generation. The African continent is the birthplace of legends steeped in mystery and enchantment.
Like rivers flowing with ancestral wisdom, its ancient culture was one of the foundations of Brazilian society and remains present in the blood of each of us. As the African proverb says: "A good tree is one that remembers the seed that bore it."
Legends of Africa , now in a new edition, with illustrations by Douglas Lopes and Vitória Gomes, transports us to a world of vibrant colors in a magical time when animals confronted each other through both fights and intelligent and fun discussions.
Surprised and frightened, the Leopard momentarily forgot his tremendous hunger and tried to escape. He couldn't. Pacing back and forth, disgruntled and finally enraged, he roared in all directions, pawing violently inside the terrible hole that had imprisoned him. He felt humiliated. Such carelessness from a hunter as feared as he was experienced could only provoke feelings of frustration and rage. With these, as one might imagine, came those uncomfortable and uncontrollable feelings of humiliation and shame, with the rage growing and transforming into increasingly frightening roars. He roared so furiously that he hadn't even realized how dangerous his behavior was.
