Memories of the Underworld

Memories of the Underworld tells the true story of Rodger Klinger, a German man in love with Brazil. His visit to Rio de Janeiro ceases to be a mere cliché when, in Copacabana, he is introduced to prostitution and drug trafficking—which further enchant him with the city. However, what fascinates him most about Rio's underworld is the low cost of cocaine. Klinger decides to resell it in Germany for a much higher price, but is discovered and introduced to the hell of Rio's prisons. The four terrifying years the author spends in prison are recounted in detail in this work.
