The fourth volume of the Merlin series, which had its film adaptation rights purchased by Disney After saving Fincayra from the merciless Kreelixes and recovering his magic, Merlin's only concern seems to be controlling his shadow – which insists on mocking the wizard. However, due to a botched spell, Merlin and Hallia, the doe-girl, end up on the banks of the Haunted Marsh, where the trees seem to groan in fear and strange creatures have appeared. When a bird steals his sword and abandons it in the depths of the Marsh, Merlin must face his fear and venture into the place everyone is trying to escape.
