BOOK THAT INSPIRED THE FILM OF THE SAME NAME Kohlhaas is a horse trader living in 16th-century Germany. His life is peaceful and prosperous until a great misfortune befalls him: a powerful man, Baron Wenzel von Tronka, unjustly seizes two of his horses and forces them to perform grueling farm work. Unable to get the animals back, Kohlhaas is forced to seek what is rightfully his, and he encounters a flawed and corrupt state that imposes a series of humiliations on him. It is then that we see the growth of an incredible character – Michael Kohlhaas transforms into an obsessive warrior, a dragon seeking justice at any cost. • The film based on the book is scheduled for release in Brazil in March of this year.
