Nássara Cleaned Up is a comprehensive chronicle, a snapshot of the life and art of Antonio Gabriel Nássara (1910-1996), a Brazilian composer and caricaturist, by Carlos Didier. The author presents us with Nássara as a human being, a street-corner man, a true Carioca—"in fact, so Carioca that, contrary to the norm, he was even born in Rio!"—Ruy Castro observes. He is the author of several sambas and marchinhas that shake up Carnival every year, such as "Ala-la-ô," "Florisbela," and "Meu Consoloso É Você," among many others.
