Sobre o autor

Antonio Skármeta

Antonio Skármeta nasceu em Antofagasta (Chile) e se formou em filosofia e literatura, na Universidade do Chile e na de Columbia, em Nova York. Seus romances e contos foram traduzidos para 35 idiomas. Foi embaixador do Chile na Alemanha de 2000 a 2003 e hoje vive em seu país, dedicando-se apenas à literatura. Entre seus livros estão os romances O dia em que a poesia derrotou um ditador e Um pai de cinema, que ganhou uma adaptação cinematográfica dirigida e produzida por Selton Mello. O carteiro e poeta também foi adaptado para um filme da Netflix em 2022, sob o título de Ardente paciência. Para o público juvenil, Skármeta é autor de A redação.

Mariona Cabassa estudou ilustração e design na Escola Massana, em Barcelona — onde recebeu o Prêmio Extraordinário em 2000 — e nas Escolas de Artes de Estrasburgo e Marselha. Ilustradora de destaque internacional, teve trabalhos publicados na Espanha, França, Itália, Inglaterra e Portugal. Foi premiada duas vezes nos Prêmios Junceda: em 2003, por Livro para contar enquanto se come um ovo frito, e em 2009, por Adivina adivinanza: tenho um zero na barriga. Em 2005, participou da exposição Ilustríssimos da Feira do Livro Infantil de Bolonha e, em 2010, venceu o Concurso Internacional de Álbum Ilustrado de Compostela com La familia C.
