THE HEART OF THE BRUSH

In his book The Heart of the Brush, Japanese artist Kazuaki Tanahashi reveals his understanding of East Asian calligraphy and painting—which involve body, mind, heart, breath, and energy. "By learning this process, we become aware of the wholeness of our being and discover ways to deepen our connection with ourselves and others," explains Kazuaki. "It is a process of facing and penetrating obstacles and also of experiencing inner freedom."
