Everyday Life and History is Agnes Heller's first book translated into Portuguese.

The Hungarian philosopher—a student of Georg Lukács, whose assistant, follower, and collaborator she later became—is one of the leading representatives of the Budapest School, known for its systematic opposition to both subjectivist historicism and structuralist versions of the philosophy of praxis, considered a formalist and anti-historical epistemology. To develop a critical understanding of our time, we need a broad and in-depth knowledge of all the ideas that shape and are informed by it, giving it what we might call its cultural profile. Without this, we will not understand the thoughts and emotions of humanity that surround and define us.
