School is over, and summer opens up before Federico, as does Palermo, his dazzling and mysterious city. As he prepares to study at Oxford, the 17-year-old meets 3P, the religion professor, Father Pino Puglisi. He doesn't take offense; he smiles. 3P invites him to help with the children in his neighborhood before he leaves.
