1984: Kate Meaney is a lonely girl who solves mysteries and divines the dark secrets of the shoppers at Green Oaks Mall. Her tight-knit group of friends includes Adrian, a candy store employee, and Teresa, a schoolmate who uses destructive behavior as a defense. 2003: Twenty years have passed since Kate disappeared. Adrian's sister, Lisa, is obsessed with an image of a little girl captured on the mall's security cameras. Her resemblance to Kate could lead to the end of the two-decade mystery.
