Odara

In this novel, Márcio Paschoal presents a character full of nuances. A captivating figure, with gentle features and kind gestures, who soon sees herself as a different person and chooses to embrace her feminine side. Thus, Odara is born. The author explores this duality and, with great humor, reveals a glimpse into the reality of these individuals marginalized by society.

The inspiration for the book came from workshops taught by the author. Chronicles by Veríssimo, lyrics by artists like Zeca Baleiro, and a conversation shaped the book's destiny. "The result was a woman of extremes, with a complex psychological profile who didn't want to remain stagnant, dreaming of groping for distracted stars.

Talking to Rogéria, I thought about transforming this controversial character into a transvestite. That's how Odara came about," Paschoal reveals.

The author's narrative allows us to understand the character's many facets. Following Odara's story from her difficult childhood, through her illusions, romances, and adventures in Rio de Janeiro and around the world, leads us to reflect on the human condition itself.
