Where the shadows lie

When Detective Magnus Jonson becomes a witness in a Boston police corruption case, he quickly becomes the primary target of the gang he once benefited from. As protection, he is transferred to his native Iceland. There, he follows the investigation into the murder of a professor. Everything indicates that the crime is linked to an unknown Icelandic saga he was translating, with many similarities to The Lord of the Rings. Thus, Magnus must unravel a plot involving a family's ancient secrets, a mysterious shepherd, and a wealthy American fan of J.R.R. Tolkien's universe.
