A classic of Brazilian literature. Considered one of the masterpieces of Brazilian literature, Os sertões describes the battles between the men led by Antonio Conselheiro and the Brazilian army, as seen through the eyes of Euclides da Cunha. With his refined journalistic-epic style, he paints a portrait of the elements that make up the Canudos War: the Land, the Man, and the War. Euclides da Cunha was the only journalist who recognized the bravery of the jagunços.
