The various flavors of coffee

London, 1896. A simple cup of coffee changed Robert Wallis's life. The 22-year-old bohemian poet meets Samuel Pinker, an importer and distributor of the product. He offers Wallis a job: using his taste buds and talent for words to compose a "coffee vocabulary." After accepting, Pinker sends Wallis to Africa in search of the source of the legendary mocha coffee. During the journey, Wallis meets Fikre, the seductive slave of a powerful merchant in the region, and gains a new perspective on love.
