Caio Fernando Abreu was one of the most important figures in contemporary Brazilian literature. A controversial, intense, sarcastic, and brilliant journalist, he was a close friend of Paula Dip, with whom he lived for 20 years and to whom he dedicated a short story in his classic *Mouthy Strawberries*. The author gathers letters, notes, and personal details she shared with the writer, as well as testimonies from important people in Caio's life, such as Cazuza, Ney Matogrosso, and others. The result is a moving account from someone who closely followed the world of the "Writer of Passion" (as Lygia Fagundes Telles called him) until his untimely death at the age of 47, a victim of AIDS.
